Growing the Game, Coaches and Players


​​​​​​​The Aim of the WSA Under 7 Tee Ball Programme is to provide more opportunities for Tee Sox age groups, to help promote the engagement and discovery of the game with the same words and phrases.

This programme sits in the Engaging Pathway and is modified to encompass the SNZ Foundation Pathway for children.

Using the resources

The weekly programme content is in the document to the right.  There are tabs for each week and what skills and games to are being focussed on each week.  There are tabs that have further information about each week (please note this is a work in progress) where WSA has either produced videos or used those already available to provide visual examples.  We thank Sport Tairawhiti, Sport NZ and Softball NZ for the production of the iCoach series of videos which we've also used.

Foundation coaches

All Under 7 and 9 Tee Ball Coaches are required to complete the Online Foundation Phase Coaching Modules.

There are three phases in this online coaching module:

  1. Safe As

    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​Help to identify how to keep you and your players safe.

  2. T-Ball Coach

    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​This improves your understanding of T-Ball and how to coach at this level in a fun and safe way.

  3. Induction Unit

    • ​​​​​​​​​​​​​​An introduction to coachcing at any level.
